Rappahannock Cellars 2007 Chardonnay – “BEST WHITE WINE”
at the 2009 Virginia Governors Cup Competition
HUNTLY, VA, March 25th 2009 – Rappahannock Cellars 2007 Chardonnay was awarded a “GOLD” medal and named “Best White Wine” in Virginia at the 2009 Virginia Governors Cup Wine Competition.
Rappahannock Cellars excelled in the competition while also earning a silver medal and two bronze medals for it’s Cabernet Franc and two Meritage Red Wines. These awards come on the heels of a strong showing at the San Francisco Chronicle International Wine Competition, earning a coveted silver medal for it’s 2008 Seyval Blanc at this prestigious competition.

The Virginia Governors Cup Wine Competition, the largest and most influential wine competition in Virginia, is judged by a prestigious panel of regionally and nationally recognized wine experts. Judging is based on a blind, consensual procedure, ensuring that its rigor and integrity remain the state’s most respected competition.
