Introducing our 2016 vintage of Black Label Rosé! A bone-dry blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, this Rosé is all barrel fermented and aged four months in neutral French Oak. You will be greeted by aromas of papaya and blossoms and delighted by the citrus and honeyed almond on the palette. Guaranteed to be your summer favorite!
Aromas of green melon, hibiscus, and blood orange. Flavors of tangerine, vanilla, and toasted marshmallow.
One vineyard sits between 900' and 1200' elevation. Southeast aspect, with 10% grade. Rocky soil comprised of shale, limestone and clay. The other is a similar elevation but is comprised of green stone and quartz and is a Southwest aspect.
This is a blend of mostly Cab Franc. Grapes were picked on two separate days in late September and early October. One lot was whole clustered pressed. The other lot was destemmed for red winemaking then bled 20%. Both juice lots were settled over night then racked to neutral French oak for fermentation. Aged 3 months in barrel, then blended and bottled.
2016 was quite wet in early spring making conditions challenging in the vineyard. July and August dried out and we saw good ripening and flavor development in both reds and whites. Merlot, Cab Franc and Chardonnay stood out.
