Valentine's Day Chocolate!

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and we here at Rappahannock Cellars are in the midst of preparing for the most romantic time of the year. This includes finding the perfect chocolate and wine pairing to share during the day, as well as preparing for our Valentine’s Day Harp & Wine dinner that evening.

Challenge: find a chocolate pairing that surpasses the cliché.

Solution: guilt-free chocolate that passes the "I love Butter" test

Cliché? Crushed

The aptly-named treasure, ‘Joy Bliss Raw’ (a D.C-based company) produces a wide variety of handmade chocolate delicacies - and they taste like heaven with our wines. Yes, we're bragging - but only to get your attention (...and because it's totally true).

Masterminded by the talented chocolatier Anh Thu Hoang, Joy Bliss Raw produces such creamy and delicious chocolate that it makes other chocolate taste like wax. And we're not kididng: it really is completely guilt-free!

You would never know it from taking a blind tasting of these intricate bites, but these chocolates are completely organic, vegan and are only made from high quality raw ingredients. The food is not heated above 115 F - a process which retains the nutrients in the food (hence the 'raw' component). The only sweeteners used are natural, such as maple syrup or coconut. In addition, there are no additives, no preservatives and no emulsifiers. And in spite of all of this, it was our first choice to include in our chocolate and wine tastings :)

The idea behind raw chocolate is that chocolate can be both nutritious and delicious—it is able to be healthy without sacrificing taste or texture. This chocolate has made a believer out of me - but you have to try it to believe it. Join us for our chocolate and wine tasting on Valentines Day (Feb 14th), and you'll be tweeting out your newfound love for this guilt-free sensation.

We'll show you how we're Revolutionizing Virginia Wine ... and crushing the Valentine's Day cliché!

Cost: $16 per person

What's included: six decedant chocolates, paired with six stellar Rappahannock Wines.

Not buying the hype? That's okay - we're not going to force you into the awesomeness...you can skip the chocolate pairing and enjoy our premium wine-tasting. You'll still have experiened something epic, and when you go to sleep that night, you'll know you rock at life.

Nice chocolate. I am considering buying a special chocolate box for my boyfriend this Valentine. He loves chocolates very much and I think this will make the perfect gift for him
